“The Caucasus Triangle – youth, media and democracy in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan” is a documentary on freedom of expression in South Caucasus, from the perspective of youth movements.

The video documentary follows the story, the life and the testimony of three young activists from the three South Caucasus countries (Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan). With the distribution of the film, and a related educational tool-kit, the film makers want to raise awareness amongst European civil society (especially youth) on the situation of freedom of expression in the Caucasus.

While the Caucasus is crucial for Europe for a number of reasons (culturally, geo-strategically, in
terms of economic development, for its transition to a post-Soviet society, for its ‘frozen conflicts’), it is still a “black spot” for European audience.
What is the status of freedom of expression in the Caucasus? How can it increase and improve? What key role has youth to play? What difficulties have youth organization encountered when striving for democratic change? How can freedom of expression contribute to democracy and empowerment of civil society?
